  • Head of RE (£5k Golden Hello)

    The Abbey School

    The Abbey School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Head of RE who is committed to excellence, to start from September 2024.

    The successful candidate will be a creative and dynamic practitioner and leader who will be able to strive the development of our already thriving Religious Education and Studies department, and help drive forward our agenda of continuous improvement.

    This is a permanent, full-time role, paid on the basis of the School Teachers Pay & Conditions MPS/UPS, dependant on experience, with an additional TLR2c (£3,214).

    The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5k. This is split into the following payments - £2.5k subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £2.5k to be paid in September 2025 as a retention incentive.

  • Classroom Teacher

    Thames View Primary School

    Thames View Primary School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Classroom Teacher. The salary for this role is on the MPS/UPS scale, dependent on experience.

    The successful candidate will be someone who has high expectations and is genuinely passionate about teaching. Ideally, the successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in teaching a variety of age-range groups. 

    This is a full-time permanent role, to start from September 2024.

  • Exam Invigilator

    The Abbey School

    Salary National Minimum Wage - £11.44 p/h

    The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a reliable and effective Exams Invigilator to join our team of invigilators, who are required during exam periods and for days of tests throughout the academic year. The ideal candidate will be flexible, with excellent communication skills and a confident and reassuring presence to students sitting exams. Employment for this position is offered on an Ad-hoc basis.

    Duties:
    - Administer and proctor exams in a fair and consistent manner
    - Ensure a secure testing environment for all test takers
    - Verify the identity of test takers and enforce testing rules and regulations
    - Monitor test takers to prevent cheating or misconduct
    - Answer questions and provide assistance to test takers as needed
    - Collect and organize completed exams for submission to appropriate parties
    - Maintain confidentiality of test materials and results

    Please note that this position does not involve educating or teaching. The primary responsibility of a proctor is to ensure the integrity of the testing process by monitoring test takers and enforcing testing rules.

  • Teacher of Science (£5k Golden Hello)

    The Howard School

    This is a permanent role, 32.5 hours per week, paid based on MPS/UPS, dependant on experience.  A TLR or Recruitment and Retention amount is available for a candidate with the right skills and experience. 

    The Howard School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Teacher of Science, to start from September 2024.

    The Science Department is very successful and offers a full range of courses across both GCSE and A Level, including A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Science is very popular and is held in high regard by students, parents, staff and the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Student Pastoral Apprentice

    The Howard School

    Salary Apprentice Minimum Wage

    The Howard School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Student Pastoral Apprentice with immediate effect.

    The successful candidate will be highly motivated, well organised, and have a good attention to detail. The salary for this role is Apprentice Minimum Wage. This is a full time role, working 37 per week, all year round, for the duration of a 1 year Apprenticeship.

    The role will be expected to work during each school term on a full time basis, and complete any apprenticeship studying and coursework during half terms.

    The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our MFL Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Head of Modern Foreign Languages, to start from September 2024.

    We currently offer French and Spanish to over 50% of the cohort at GCSE and all students take MFL in KS3. The department has recently expanded their offer into A-Level French and there are strong proposals to offer A-Level Spanish in the near future.   • Volunteer Counsellor Placements

    The Howard Academy Trust

    The Howard Academy Trust would like to offer Volunteer Counsellor placements in order to support our students. This will enhance the support already provided by the Trust to promote emotional health and well-being. It will also enable students to develop a resilience to help them cope with the difficulties they face. There are fully qualified Lead Counsellors in post at each school for support and advice.

     

    We have placements available at the following schools:

    • The Howard School
    • Waterfront UTC

     

    The successful candidates will need to commit to this placement for one full academic year. In return, the Trust will fund an enhanced DBS check and clinical supervision for the duration of the placement.
