  • Volunteer Counsellor Placements

    The Howard Academy Trust

    The Howard Academy Trust would like to offer Volunteer Counsellor Placements in order to support our students. This will enhance the support already provided by the Trust to promote emotional health and well-being. It will also enable students to develop a resilience to help them cope with the difficulties they face. There are fully qualified Lead Counsellors in post at each school for support and advice.

     

    We have placements available at the following schools:

    • The Howard School
    • Waterfront UTC

     

    The successful candidates will need to commit to this placement for one full academic year. In return, the Trust will fund an enhanced DBS check and clinical supervision for the duration of the placement.

  • Trust Network Manager

    The Howard Academy Trust

    Salary NJC B2 points 26-35 (FTE £36,124 - £44,711))

    Due to further growth at The Howard Academy Trust, we are seeking to appoint a Trust Network Manager to join our Central Team. The Trust Network Manager will work with the Head of IT with a focus on managing and maintaining the Trusts IT infrastructure. You will need to ensure that secure, efficient and reliable operations within our schools are maintained to the agreed standard. As part of our continued investment into providing the best possible IT provision to our schools, we are seeking to appoint an Infrastructure engineer to strengthen the team.

    This is a part time (22 hours per week), permanent role, paid based on the NJC payscale B2 points 26-35 (FTE £36,124 - £44,711 - actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis).

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT Manager to apply their skills and knowledge in ensuring that all aspects of the Trust's IT meet the needs of our schools. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled Trust Network Manager to join our team and help safeguard our digital assets while protecting the Trust's data. A full, clean driving license is required, as travel between sites is essential.

    Waterfront UTC is seeking to appoint a reliable and effective Exams Invigilator to join our team of invigilators, who are required during exam periods and for days of tests throughout the academic year.

    The ideal candidate will be flexible, with excellent communication skills and a confident and reassuring presence to students sitting exams. Employment for this position is offered on an Ad-hoc basis.

    Please note that this position does not involve educating or teaching. The primary responsibility of a proctor is to ensure the integrity of the testing process by monitoring test takers and enforcing testing rules.

    This is a casual, zero hour contract position paid based on the National Minimum Wage.

  • Teaching Assistant

    Thames View Primary School seeks to appoint a Teaching Assistant to assist in the Wellbeing Hub, to start from January 2025.

    The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational skills. They will have the ability to effectively support teaching and learning, and to develop relationships across the school.  

    This is a part time (27.5 hours per week), permanent role, Term Time Only + 1 week, paid based on the NJC pay scale D2 point 4-11 (FTE £24,404 - £27,269 – actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis).

    The working pattern will consist of Monday-Wednesday 8:30 - 15:30, Thursday & Friday 8:30 - 13:00, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day. 

    Please note that this position will be based in the school's Wellbeing Hub, and will involve small group interventions and working with the wellbeing dogs.

    The Howard Academy Trust has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our talented and progressive Central Operations Finance team. The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time in our growth as a Multi Academy Trust, to start with immediate effect.

    The successful candidate will provide high quality financial support as part of the Trust Central Finance Team, lead on the preparation of payment runs, including preparation of pay lists and uploading to the bank, and ensure the effective operation of the Finance department. The successful applicant will be organised, hardworking, and have a keen eye for detail.

    This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent role, all year round, paid based on the NJC pay scale C1 points 6-19 (FTE £25,183 - £31,067). 

    The Howard Academy Trust promotes flexible working and we are therefore happy to consider part time applications, working a minimum of 30 hours per week, or candidates who can work 37 hours per week but would like to work Term Time Only + 4 weeks.

    Hurstmere School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Cover Supervisor, to start immediately

    Support Staff play a vital role in assisting teaching staff to make the education of their students their first concern, and are accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. The role of Cover Supervisor is to ensure an engaging and safe working environment for classes whose teacher is absent in order for all students to be able to access and complete the work set by the member of teaching staff.

    This is a full time, permanent role, Term Time Only, 36 hours a week, 8:10am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday and 8:10am - 3:20 pm Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break
